Jackie Johnson is a professional pianist and teacher
with more than 35 years experience.
I began studying piano at the age of 6 and never stopped learning, encountering both wonderful and challenging teachers along the way. These experiences shaped my teaching style, which emphasizes positivity and encouragement alongside education.
My passion for music led me to Northwestern University, where I studied film and music. I took graduate level classes in commercial music writing and arranging at DePaul University and performed professionally across Chicago and Los Angeles — from McCormick Place to the Ritz Carlton. I’ve contributed to several TV shows as a hand double or recording musician and composed music for numerous small films.
Despite my diverse musical experiences, teaching remains my true calling. I find immense joy in guiding children to discover the magic of music and helping adults enhance their musical talents.
