For Parents:
My piano lessons for your child are tailor made for each student’s goals, with the intention to create an enduring love of music while developing musical knowledge. Not all kids enjoy the practice part, nor the learning of “essentials” like scales and theory. But, when those important concepts are mixed in with playing songs on the piano that they like or they make videos of their favorite songs for their friends and family, the learning is sneakily painless.
I am not the teacher who will get angry when kids don’t practice or who will expect each student to tackle the same pieces as all other students in order to progress. My job is to keep kids interested and loving music until they realize, “Hey,…. this is cool!” Then we can take off from there.
I have been performing and teaching piano for over 30 years and am very passionate about giving your child a well-rounded music education, while still incorporating some fun.

About Piano Lessons
- Weekly lessons are available at my Van Nuys studio (grand piano), in your home (Encino and nearby), or online.
- At the studio, students play on a grand piano; for studio and online lessons, I use my own keyboard for demos.
- Students use their own books, which they bring home for practice.
- Beginners generally start with 30 minutes since there’s a lot to absorb; once ready, we can extend to 45 minutes.
